Our Islamic art collection is displayed across two floors in twelve permanent galleries. Begin your journey at the Architecture and Qur’an & Manuscript galleries. Continue with the India, China and Malay World galleries — an homage to Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage.
Function and material are the highlight of the second floor galleries. Be immersed in the excellence of Islamic craftsmanship in the circuit of the Arms & Armour, Jewellery, Textile, Woodwork, Coins & Seal, Metalwork and Ceramics galleries. Enjoy a glimpse of the art-objects in context, offered through our six Lifestyle cases: Ottoman, Persian, Spain, India, Malay world and Central Asia.
Special and travelling exhibitions take place at the Special Galleries 1 and 2, while photography exhibitions are held at the Open Space Gallery.
