The Mosques of Ibn Tulun and Demak: Some Aspects of Historical Similarities, a lecture by Dr. Ahmed Wahby

The Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia (IAMM) invites you to “The Mosques of Ibn Tulun and Demak: Some Aspects of Historical Similarities”, a special lecture by Dr. Ahmed Wahby.

Dr. Ahmed Wahby is an Egyptian Architect and an Islamic Art & Architecture historian. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Design Theory and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Arts at the German University in Cairo.

Dr. Ahmed Wahby will explore the superficial similarities found on the architectural structure of both infamous Masjid Ibn Tulun in Cairo and Masjid Demak in Indonesia. Will the speaker explain the significant relation between both mosques and its impact on Muslim civilization? This is indeed a golden opportunity for architecture students and academicians, as well as the curious public.
