Say…Konnichiwa! : Manga, Origami Workshop & Japanese Storytelling


Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia (IAMM) in collaboration with Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur will be organizing exciting art programmes; Manga Workshop by Manaru Tenkawa and Japanese Storytelling & Origami Workshop on 20th March 2016 for you to learn and enjoy!

Manga Workshop by Manaru Tenkawa 

Time      :  Morning session (10.30 am – 1 pm)

Afternoon Session (2.30 pm – 5 pm)

Venue  :  Education Wet Workshop

Age        :  12 years and above

Fee        :  Free

Come and learn how to draw like a manga cartoonist with Japanese professional cartoonist, Manaru Tenkawa. It’s time to create your own manga characters!

Manaru Tenkawa is an art teacher at a vocational school in Osaka. She has worked as a manga assistant at over 20 studios across her native country. Long fascinated by Islamic culture, she has published a serial comic about the daily life of a Muslim girl in a manga magazine and regularly hosts workshops in the Middle East.

 Storytelling & Origami Workshop

Time      :  3 pm – 4:30 pm

Venue  :  Children’s Library

Age        :  12 years and below

Fee        :  Free

 Fancy yourself with Japanese stories and crafts? Come and listen to the stories of brave Samurai, beautiful falling Sakura petals, and learn to make beautiful traditional origami like a Japanese!
