Record & Collection Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Handling collections and record
  • Inventory update of museum’s permanent collection;
  • Digital: Updating computerised documentation system
  • manual record management: writing catalogue cards, accession register and object history files
  • Creating artefacts description;
  • Reorganization and maintenance of collections repositories and artefacts movement;
  • Assisting Curators, Photographer and Conservators for collection related matters such as transferring artefacts for photoshoot, research or conservation treatment;
  • Assisting Display team for setting up temporary exhibitions;

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Information Management, Library Management or equivalent;
  • At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field
  • Enthusiasm and confidence with excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Computer literacy – with ability to manage information systematically and accurately;
  • Flexibility in approach to working in a team environment;
  • Must be detailed oriented with ability to multi-task and consistently follow procedures;
  • Able to work independently;
  • Strong oral & communication skills – English & Malay
