Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia would like to invite you to join us in a photography talk by Shuhada Hasim entitled Islamic Culture & Heritage from Malaysia Context – Capturing Story.

 The talk will explore the culture and practices that has been passed throughout generations in Malaysia from a photographer’s lens. By having more understanding about the culture and practices, there will be more stories to be captured and to tell through photography from a different perspective.

Speaker’s Biography

Shuhada Hasim is a portrait photographer, columnist for Fotografika Magazine, trainer & speaker for Canon EOS Academy, and lecturer in photography. She holds an B. Acc from Universiti Tenaga Nasional and an Executive Diploma in Creative Photography and Digital Imaging from University Teknologi Malaysia.

Her main subjects of photography focus on empowering women through portraits. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including Visual Arts, MOCAfest in Kuala Lumpur , Solo Exhibition, “The Beautiful Truth” in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, Group Exhibition, “Women Behind the Lens”, Group Exhibition, “The Real People Series” and “Photos from The Heart” in Kuala Lumpur.

She founded TAPWomen (The Art of Photography for Women Entrepreneurs), a photography educational program and platform to educate and inspire micro industry women entrepreneurs in Malaysia to cultivate the appreciation of art in photography in the business activities.
