The Analytical Laboratory executes research on artefacts, techniques and materials.

Main tasks include :
Scientific research on conservation methods, objects and materials
Material analysis and identification
Examination of remaining original material, its deterioration products and associated adhering material
Determination of mode of treatment for artefacts
Identification of materials, determination of decay and chemical nature
Analysis and services for external clients (e.g. museums in Malaysia and the region, ministries and governmental
institutions, private collectors and private museums).
