Citi J. Yousoff from Kelantan, Malaysia, is qualified with Ijaza from the Venerated Master Hasan Celebi in Turkey for Thuluth and Naskh scripts. Her works are centred around the traditional arts of Islamic calligraphy with the elements of traditional Malay Islamic motifs and contemporary art. She is one of the committee members of National Calligraphy Association of Malaysia, and the only female calligraphy instructor in the calligraphy workshops organised by the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia.
Subjects : Nasakh & Thuluth (Experienced), Riq’ah (Beginners).
Duration : August 2018 – February 2018 (consist of 18 classes).
Venue : Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
Fee : RM100 (exclude materials).
Date : Starting from 26th August 2018
Time : 10.30 am – 1.00 pm.
- Students with experience will learn two Arabic scripts: Nasakh and Thuluth. As for the beginners, they will start by learning Riq’ah.
- The teacher will guide the students on how to write Arabic alphabets followed by joints and full sentences thereafter, and how to properly cut the reed pen or qalam.
- Classes will be conducted in both Malay and English Language.
